What do you think is in store for this season? I know it opens up at Barney's wedding, but I doubt we will even come close to seeing the mother. I think this season will continue to focus on Barney maturing and end with him proposing to either Robin or that other girl whose name I can't remember right now. Something big will happen an Punchy's wedding too IMO. Lastly, I think the season will end right before Ted see's the mother at Barney's wedding.
Any ideas?

I wouldn't be surprised if the last scene of the show is Ted finally meeting the mother.

I've never watched this show live. This will be my first time. I finally finished all the seasons.

Last season got to serious at times, here's hoping they return some of the original comedic gold this show used to supply

I keep thinking that after the mom is met they will have another 1 or 2 episodes from her standpoint on all of those close calls in meeting her. In Teds class, the st. patricks party, rooftop halloween.. etc.

Anyone else think the Mom is dead or dying from a terminal illness in the narration time frame? As in that's why he is telling them the story of how they met?

New How I Met Your Mother Tonight.
It's two, right (hour-long)?
And I assume the season will just be a bunch of filler with clues that don't tell you who the mother is, and it will end with Marshall and Lilly having their kid and the mother being "almost there" in some way. Also, Barney will bang lots of chicks, and Robin will be fairly boring. And those two may end up back together at some point.
It'll be just like every other season. Although I do like serious episodes sometimes...Marshall's dad episode last year was great.

It's not Barney's wedding, unless he's marrying Robin. It's Robin's wedding. Last season she made him promise to be her best man. And you'll notice that it's Lily that goes get him, probably from the bridal room. Why would she be around Barney before the wedding?

Yeah scrubs was one of the few comedies that could pull that off
Great idea about the mother should narrate 2 or 3 episodes about the close calls etc.

Love this show but i really need to catch up, there is a lot of way they could end it in an awesome way
The first Finale was one of the best endings to a show ever
Its an abomination that they kept the show going after that episode

not true she comes out and says that the groom needs to see him. He goes into the room and says "Lily said you wanted to see me" and barney turns around and asks him how his tie looks

I must have missed that episode. One of the reruns the other day just had Lily stick her head out the church door and say "Best man, you're being summoned."

Sometimes she looks amazing, and other times she looks terrible. She's quite the conundrum.

I was reading an interview earlier this summer where the producer said that if this show were an airplane, this season would be when your plane begins it's descent for the landing.
This means they are probably going to begin the process of winding this show down. So I could see big things happening this year.
