I think the same goes for Shep. Right now, Lee and OBJ seem to have developed some chemistry. I don't think you disrupt that by just inserting Shep because he's eligible again.

No, I would not consider myself in that camp.... because I do not think JJ gives us a better chance to win.. IMO
*again, this is purely speculation...LOL

ODB had 8 catches IN ONE GAME
Tell me the last time a receiver had 8 catches with JJ at QB

The "Who ever gives LSU the best chance to win".. is the correct answer for any position on any day..
However, given the fact that LSU is primarily a run first offense, it is not far fetched to think JJ could get back into the mix quickly.
The primary factor (as I see it.. ) would be physical conditioning and execution at this point...

Does it matter?

JL is doing well, leave it alone for the time being...if he gets hurt, then consider putting JJ in ahead of Mett...
My problem with JJ is to my thinking, he's never improved his passing game...I can predict when he is going to be sacked when he has the "stunned mullet" reaction back in the pocket...and I think he feels at times like he is still in high school and by far the best athlete on the field...

What advantage would lsu have in bringing a qb back over a qb that has performed well against 3 teams, two ranked in the top 25 and hasn't been involved In off the field issues?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. simple as that.

I completely agree with both your points. From where I sit... Even if JJ came back tomorrow and his physical conditioning was up to speed, it would be difficult to start him over Lee at this point.

How do you know this?
He's not playing in the games.
All you have to base that on is last season.
And we know how he regressed from 09-10
Meanwhile lee is doing really well. Were back to being a pass efficient team when we need to be.
Offense is ranked what? 35th or something?
Tell me what the offense was ranked when JJ was qb

PLEASE PLEASE give it up dude. We know you are a bigtime JJ supporter. Just give it up and enjoy the ride. You are going to find yourself missing out on what possibly could be the best season in LSU history...simply because you don't like JL. It does not take a genius to see the shots you take at lee here and there....Lee is 30 out of his last 37 passes......tell me the last time your guy was that accurate???? Please, just stop, and enjoy the ride.

No doubt

I didn't know Shep has been allowed to practice with the team. That does make the situations different. Still, I think OBJ has earned the start in Shep's absense - great hands, good route runner.

Oh really? Did you actually see the secondary and overall defense of ole miss last year. There are many "JV" teams as you call them that have better secondaries and overall defenses than Ole Miss put on the field last year. JJ was horrible last year. Also, as I recall, LSU was not good offensively against Arkansas, and unless I'm mistaken, they LOST the game to Arky. Texas A&M....meh.....big 12 defense......your attempt is very lame. ANYONE, and I mean ANYONE can see that this offense is more potent with LEE. Would you like me to compare the first downs a game and 3 and outs a game for the first 3 games lsu played last year compared to this year. This is why our defense wore down last year.....JJ and his 3 and outs....but I guess you don't remember that 8 game stretch....

So you're both in the "Lee should play even if JJ gives us a better chance to win" camp?
I dont understand how you or anyone can say JJ gives us a better chcne to win.
If we win this weekend that will be a 4-0 start with 3 wins coming on the road vs top 25 teams.
That in itself is enough to keep JL the starter.
IMO Lee's confindence, leadership and play on the field has exceeded most fans expectations and well as Les's.
As of today there is absolutley no reason to make a change. NONE.
No one will fault LM if JL remains the starter and we lose a game, regardless if its Lee's fault or not... however make a change, let us lose a game... see how that works out for him.
You will see a divided furious fanbase.

I don't think I've started a single thread calling for JJ to start. People start threads that I'm interested in, and I give my opinion. That's how this works.
And I don't take shots at Lee. I've stated time and again that I think JJ would be the better option and supplied some facts to back it up. That's not taking shots. That's my position on a matter of controversy. I could be wrong. Such is life. At any rate, I'm happy with Lee's performances, I like the guy, and am glad that he stayed. Otherwise, we'd be in the same situation as 08--no real experience under center.
But down to the heart of the matter. What you'll find is that I, and many others, find many of the posters on this site to be obnoxious, disingenuous, and hypocritical about the whole thing (not saying you're one, I haven't read many of your posts). So I can say that I do find many of the members of Lee's self-appointed PR firm distasteful. That's not against Lee. That's against them. And if it seems as though I spend a lot of time defending Jefferson, it's because there is ample opportunity to do so.
Think about why that is.

LSU's ability to run has a tremendous amount to do with LSU's ABILITY to pass....just sayin. No one, and I mean NO ONE over the past two years has respected that ability to pass with JJ, and as a result, they stack the line to stop the run, and LSU ends up in a close ballgame practically every game....This has not been the case with JL...and if you can't see that, then I can't help you.
