BR restaurants/bars that you hated (or would hate) to work at

I'm going to say any corporate place where everything must be the same even down to the way you greet a table or describe a dish. Same in the kitchen, especially if the food is out of a box.

I hear nothing but horror stories from former chili's employees

Never worked for him, but knew a lot of folks who did. From what I know, I wouldn't put him anywhere near the top of the list of worst restaurant owners in BR to work for.
Perhaps you ran across someone who had a bad experience. That will happen with pretty much anyone.

I can't imagine the wonderful tips you would get at Red Lobster and Olive Garden after you shoveled out those soup, salads, and breadsticks or the endless shrimp dinner.

In the 90's and the early 2000's when the Benningans and Applebee's of the world were popping up everywhere, it begun to try and change the service industry IMO. The shift towards suggestive up-selling seem to become more prevalent across the board. Up-selling and suggestive selling works. I know what they are doing, but sometimes they are good ideas, but I'll take an honest server over an up-selling one any day of the week. Somebody who really wants you to have the best the place has to offer regardless of price.
Hi, my name is Kalunda, can I start you out with a lemon-infused crushed ice strawberry ice tea, or a cold ruty-tuty-cold-n-fruity?
I'm automatically laughing at you on the inside at this point and embarrassed for you because I know you're going to continue to ask me if I want to buy these dumb things during each course.

I worked for Pokie years and years ago. I would rank that place(not him) one of the worst places to work

Agree. And the honest ones you can tell that they really like what they are upselling.
I went to Guy Harvey's in Panama City a couple of years ago.
I said "...and I'll try a bowl of (can't remember) soup.
The waitress said: "no." Just like that.
I was dumbfounded.
Then she continued: "I work here, but that stuff is terrible and I won't bring it unless you really insist."
I was very impressed.

There's no bigger turn-off than these cheesy canned "up-sell" pitches by waiters.
Fortunately, the places I dine almost never do it. If I go somewhere, and I'm confronted with a barrage of that crap, it's likely the last time I'll dine in that establishment.
