still kind of funny all you guys....EVERY TIME the guy has time to prepare he outcoaches other coaches that are considered great...he is winning more than any other LSU coach in the past...has his team poised to finish in the top 10 for the 5th time in 7 years, and a very legitimate shot at leading LSU to be the only team in College Football to have 3 BCS Titles...and yet you still find college coach rankings where he doesn't crack the top 10, behind coaches such as Brian Kelley, Muschamp, etc.....Can he be a pro coach? Who knows...certainly not you guys....but I wouldn't bet against the guy....some of you will just never learn, or just aren't intelligent enough to see that a certain speaking style and winning don't neccessarily go hand in hand....

I'm sure he could be an NFL coach. A successful NFL coach is a different story... Most likely would follow the likes of Spurrier, Saban, the list goes on...

I said NO due to personality and relationships more than so called knowledge. He may very well get asked to be a coach some day, but I do not think he would be a successful one. The dynamics are totally different.

If Kiffin could get a job, there is no doubt Miles could; however, the college game and the atmosphere are vastly different from the pros. The season ends and everybody goes home in the pros. College guys are hanging around for next year and in the weight room. Some time around April or May, your number one left tackle gets a fat pay check and is now lining up opposite your guys. Your hot shot qb, at least in his mind (translate this to Bret Favre), holds out for more money or fame and shows up seven minutes befroe your first game. But to me, the biggest difference is this. It seems like it would be easier to coach broke and destitute nineteen years old as opposed to multi-millionaire twenty-seven year olds.

Whoa, pump the brakes there, wild man.

I am a HUGE Les Miles fan, but do not see him succeeding in the NFL.
Edit: Probably because I underestimate him just like his opponents.

Born to be a college football coach. He's earning plenty. Waist recruiting talents to try to prove yourself in the big league. Doesn't sound like him at all.

Although, after that Broncos/Raiders shitfest last night, maybe.... Nah!

Fair enough - I read this as implied 'head coach' though, so I made my smart arse comment (definite NO).
Les seems uniquely qualified for the college game, but as our friends Saban, Petrino, and Spurrier will tell you, that doesn't always translate. Granted, I'm not exactly a professional coach myself

Exactly, when Chan Gailey was the Cowboys HC, and Miles was the TE coach.
And Jerry Jones even wondered out loud for a minute about bringing Miles back as Dallas' HC. Hell, Jones hired Barry Switzer at one time, and even that knucklehead college coach won a Super Bowl.
Another example: Dick Vermeil was the Rams' emotional non-play calling figurehead coach on the verge of being fired for his abysmal teams there. He hires OC Mike Martz & DC Lovie Smith, and the next thing you know, Vermeil is winning the Super Bowl with the Greatest Show On Turf.
If Miles puts together a good staff, particularly OC & DC, and the FO can make wise player personnel decisions, I have no doubt whatsoever that Miles could be successful as an NFL HC.

i don't think he could be successful head coach.
I would love for him to coach the Falcons though. Sean Payton would dominate

he already has been an NFL coach. Coached TE's for the Cowboys a few years ago before getting the Ok St. job
