Doesn't matter. The plane extends out of bounds, it was at least worth a review.
Edit: Or is this addressed in the "exception" to the rule (4-2-4-e)?

The "ball" is not out of bounds, unless it touches the ground or the player touches the ground outside the field of play.
You can score a touchdown with the ball outside the field if you are inside the boundary lines when you cross the goal line.
