Me too but judging by his first performance, and that's all we can go by, I thought he looked more confident and decisive against the same team than did JL. Which given the difference in experience is a bit surprising.

I just went back and watched all of our offensive plays again and here are my thoughts. Lee was very consistent but not impressive, as usual. He has never impressed me. Mett threw a great ball and seemed to really command the offense in a way I have never seen Lee do it. I think that Mett is CLEARLY the better QB. I know Lee was 9/10 but Mett is more confident and throws a much better ball. That being said.....I think Lee is going to be our QB unless something happens to Lee like an injury or a terrible game. Miles seems to go with guys he knows he can trust over the more talented player, even if it means that we will score less. He has done this year after year and it has always worked for him. The way this team is built, for running, special teams, and defense, it can still win a championship with average QB play and I know that is what Les is counting on. I am going to have to support Les because I think he knows what he is doing, but it would be pretty awesome to have a great passing game to go with our running game, defense, and special teams. The only team that I think is going to be able to beat us with Lee at QB is Bama but I still think we are going to win that.

we now have the ability to run the bubble screen again ... that play disappeared from the playbook with JJ and JL at QB. I'd much rather see that pass than the swing pass lobbed out to the RB.

we ran that play quite a bit with JL last season, fact.

And how often was it delivered with velocity and on-target so that the receiver actually had an opportunity to make something happen? I don't think I've seen that play run effectively since Flynn was QB.

FACT

Lee cant hit a receiver in stride on a slant on a consistent basis. It is what its. I'm in favor of him retaining the starting job as he has done nothing to lose it.

Who's talking about a swing pass? I'm talking about the bubble screen that has to get out to the WR with velocity.

Oh, and don't get me started on those swing passes to the RB ... JLee is going to get someone killed with that pass.

No doubt Mett looked good last night. I really Don't see why everyone wants to make this a competition. SEC seasons are long and difficult LSU will need them both before the season is over! I'm just thankful we have them both to rely on.

Not that I am saying he ISN'T the real deal...but all of his passes were along the line of scrimmage to get the WRs in space. What exactly did he show you?

What you say????

Even those passes are not a given.

But Mett delivered them perfectly, giving our WRs running room. There were two times when RR caught stop routes where he was able to make a move on defender because ball was delivered quickly. He's not just throwing the ball harder, he's throwing it faster.

The throw in the end zone was blazin'

He needs to get 1/2 the snaps immediately

I think we met at the 1999 North Texas game at Tiger Stadium. You were telling me the same about Craig Nall.

...Yeah but no one is telling you that JL = Rihan Davey.

My take on the topic of the day was that Mett looked great behind center. His had zip on his throws. He did try to force one in when I thought he had no business throwing to that particular receiver. But there was something about the way he played that I haven't seen in several years. When he is ready he should do very well for us.
