Remember, the probation the NCAA gave the LSU basketball program in 1986 involved "$33.48 to each young man as reimbursement for round-trip automobile transportation, even though another prospective student-athlete transported them for the visit." LINK
I think there was something in there about coaches paying for meals at seafood restaurants for potential recruits, but I don't think the database is up anymore.
