and tell Baylor to go butt a stump.
The hell with them, the SEC/Aggies have lawyers too.

Baylor just sees their future imploding and they're grasping at straws to make it stop. They're literally done at this point.

SEC is doing everything they can to keep this from turning ugly.
i believe slive will take off the gloves if baylor pushes too hard.

I agree with this. It's freaking Baylor.

I am not so sure.
Remember, Slive is from a small conference himself. Moreover, he seems insistent on not upsetting the ACC. The SEC under his leadership seems to be taking a very measured approach to this situation.

What does this have to do with Baylor?

Think A&M puts a beat down on Baylor Oct. 15th? I suspect the natives in College station will be restless.

I hope we put our foot on the gas and never stop. That will be the most intense a Baylor-A&M football game has been in a very long time. I don't think any margin of victory would suffice though if they somehow frick this up.

It seems that after the conference call Baylor is not the only school looking into litigation. Apparently Oklahoma is weighing out its options as to litigation.

It offers possible insight on his strategy and philosophy in approaching the dynamics involved with the current conference uncertainty. I think it may offer evidence of his taking a passive stance to adding conference teams and placing some degree of priority on maintaining healthy relationships and understanding with other schools and conferences.

Posted this on another thread but yes, from Joe Schad's twitter:
Person close to A&M describes Baylor as "ringleader" and states school's belief it's being "held hostage"
Any time there seem to be silent forces at work, and a school like Baylor is being cast as the "ringleader", there's usually only one answer as to who is behind it. And that answer is not OU.

This is what Baylor should look like after this:

Read it on texags.com, the guys specifically says OU is also going to look into it. On phone or I would link it.

If this is true (and I'll believe it when I see it) then OU is a bigger hypocrite than Baylor.
At least Baylor knew (and knows) that outside the Big 12-2 it has NO SHOT at being in an AQ conference. So throwing everything on the wall and hoping something sticks is their only chance at survival.
OU, meanwhile, has a brand that is desirable in other conferences. And they were actively looking at the superPAC with OSU, and maybe also with Texas and Tech.
There is a legal doctrine known as the "clean hands" doctrine. Basically it says that if you try to sue, and your actions are just as liable for the mess, the case gets tossed out. An example would be me trying to sue someone for my share of the proceeds from the sale of a stolen car. OU faces this problem if they sue A&M, since they are just as responsible for the current instability of the Big 12-2 (and most likely more so).

TA is an absolute clusterfrick right now so I haven't been on the boards much today. The only reason I would see OU threatening would be if they don't think they can get into the PAC (which I doubt is the case) and they think the Big 12 is their only option. I would be shocked if OU doesn't have options though. Strange.

It's true that Slive isn't poaching other schools (he is a lawyer, after all). And the ACC seems to be real tight knit, otherwise we'd hear more about VT or NC State as real options.

I've heard of him, I thought he was a Texas HS guy but I guess not. Who knows, some people might just be throwing to see what sticks, but nothing would surprise me at this point. Baylor is obviously not working alone though, I just don't buy them and their desperation being a ringleader for a school like OU. Iowa State and Kansas State maybe.

Apparently the word that the Pac 12 doesn't want to expand is true.
Hey, they can still join the SEC if they find a way to ditch Okie State. They're a better fit than Mizzou or West Virginia.
