Those are the choices. So which one would you take?

I really don't care for either but if I am forced into choosing between Denny's and Waffle House I guess I would go for West Virginia only because:

1) We can put them in the east division and no schools would have to be moved.

2) Their basketball team is better.

3) They could offer a decent rivalry with neighboring Kentucky...the Coal Mine Classic or some crap like that. Kentucky does sit up there by itself.

Best reasons I could find.

You could say the same thing about Mizzou, really.

Except take out Kentucky.. and add in Arkansas for an Arky-Mizzou rivalry.

Not saying that's what I would like to see, just pointing it out.

Yea, I agree the latter two are flimsy. The primary motivation is this would be the most convenient choice with the addition of 1 team in the west and 1 team in the east and leaving all member schools in their respective divisions. That plus I see no difference in the quality of football played by Missouri and West Virginia. However, WV and Kentucky basketball would be a worthwhile addition to the SEC.

Another team for east so West Va or Va Tech to balance it out

Mizzou and A&M to west would mean LSU is now part of the Big 12 West along with Ark which sucks

West Virginia

Reason 1 is the most important. I don't want the divisions split up.

Plus I think 'eers would actually embrace the move and the competition.

Athletically they are about equal, but Mizzou has a much better reputation for academics.
Also, there are shitload more TV sets ($) in Missouri.

Both are terrible options that aren't a great fit IMO.

Missouri's stadium sucks.

They offer a marginally successful football team and nothing more. At least WV has good basketball.

Kansas City and St. Louis are pro sports towns, not college sports towns. They are like mini-Chicagos.

Missouri's academics are superior to those of West Virginia, I agree with this.

Both schools lack funding in their athletic budgets.

Missouri and Arkansas could start up a rivalry (the Meth Lab Classic) but West Virginia could also fit nicely with Kentucky (both are poor, have hollers, and coal).
