Thought i read on here he placed like fourth in state in the 400 Meter. maybe i was dreaming. Also believe that Ford,Claiborne and David Jenkins placed high in state meets in the 100 or maybe won state.

Yes, Mingo ran track. They also used Mingo at S one point at West Monroe. That didn't work out but should give you a idea of how fast he is...

Don't have to be really fast to run the 400 though. It's truly the first endurance distance there is. I was always really fast growing up, and it really surprised me how fast you don't have to be to run the 400m. You do see a lot of sprinter's in the race, but I destroyed a lot of sprinters in the 400m that would have handed me my arse in the 100m. It's more of a race where as long as you have decent speed, endurance is the key, at the high school level anyway.

Kind of true, you have to be a great combination of speed and endurance. Probably one of the hardest events in track to run. Shows how in shape he is

I know Mingo made it to the finals in the Louisiana 5A track championship in both the 200M and 400M. I think he finished 5th or 6th in both.

His 1st place finish was as the anchor for the West Monroe relay. But I do not recall if it was for the 4x200 or the 4x400.

For a DE that fast, it's only a matter of time before teams recognize that you can't run away from him. To beat him, you have to run at him. That means dictating down & distance.

Mingo anchored the 4x100 5A state championship team at WM. That's stupid, fast twitch speed.
