LE Mingo
DT Freak
RE Monty
LB Baker
LB Hatcher
CB Mo
CB TRex
CB Simon
S Loston
S Taylor
S Reid

Could we get away using this formation if Oregon starts pressing the edges and attempts to out run our defense? Would we have to play another LB instead of one of the safeties? Am I wrong thinking Reid/Taylor/Loston might be better at defending this offense than Minter or Francois?

Not enough bigs to handle the blocks from the O-lineman.

Why don't you go ahead and add a player to that list. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't hurt to have a full 11 on defense.

Yeah I couldn't decide who we would put in at LB and forgot to put in Hatcher.

Since everyone is downplaying the Oregon o-line so badly, I don't see why we couldn't get away with using 3 d-linemen if Oregon is in hurry up mode at the end of a half and will obviously try to get big chunks through the air or by running on the corners.

1) technically, putting in Ron Brooks for Loston (or one of the other safeties) would make this faster, and it's something we already do (see "the Mustang").

2) about this -

yeah, we just gotta tackle in space

I would love to see all six of these guys on the field at the same time

yep...Loston out & Brooks in = Mustang.

Is Freak faster than Downs? Downs has looked pretty damn quick penetrating the backfield at times.

I would possibly condsider a 4-1-6 where you through Brockers and Ferguson or Freak in the middle with mingo and monty on the edges and Baker in the middle.

Don't sleep on my boy Kevin Minter either. Baker will be a vocal leader but Kevin will make a name for himself by season's end.

What's the point of having Gods out there when you have so many Ditkas?
