UT, TT, OU, OSU, Utah, CU, Arizona and ASU in Desert Division CDT and MDT zones.

Original Pac 8 SC, UCLA, Stanford, Cal, Oregon, Oregon State, Wash and WSU in PDT zone.

SEC will answer with Missouri, Clemson and FSU to join A&M.

B!G will grab ND and Pitt and Boston College and Syracuse.

It's on. Playoff to follow shortly.

I know B1G wants ND, but I have a hard time believing that ND will do anything other than stay Independent. They have too many "rivals" in too many conferences to want to do otherwise. Plus the press pretty much always wants to rank them so they don't need a conference to make it to the NCG

I don't see the PAC16 forming without the sips. And the other conference members aren't going to put up with the sips' demands for a bigger share of conference revenue, the Longhorn Network, and all the other BS.

I don't see the B16 Ten taking Pitt either, because they don't add any new territory to the conference. So they'll just take a share of the pie without growing it. Better home for Pitt would be the ACC, which would benefit from a presence in Pennsylvania. Pitt's basketball program would be a great addition to the ACC.

UConn and Cuse are basketball schools first, and would be attractive to both the B16 Ten and ACC. But I don't see enough teams in the BE and Dwindling XII that would be good additions to those two conferences.

I'm pumped about A&M getting into the SEC but a piece of me is saddened by the direction CFB is heading.

I miss the days of the Big 8, SWC, the old WAC etc.

I feel like if a playoff had been set up 30 or 40 years ago that gave most, if not all of the conferences auto bids we wouldnt be in this situation. Maybe something that mimics how DIII does it would have worked.

But then again, maybe thats wrong and TV contracts would have screwed it all up anyway.

We might end up coming full circle.

What happens when the superconferences realize 16 is too unwieldy for football and creates too much travel for non-revenue sports? The ACC splits into the original 8 and a new Big East. The owld Big Eight and SWC regroup. The PAC-16 splits into two divisions, the original PAC-8 and a WAC/MWC type conference. It would be easy to do because most of those would be together as a division anyway.

Things are so fluid and chaotic, practically anything is possible, but some comments that are worth what you paid:

I would love FSU, but unless the afraidors turn into manly lizards it's not going to happen. (Que the we're not afraid, we just don't want to help them crowd).

If the ACC lost two football teams as you suggest, I could see the AAU schools (NC, Duke, MD, VA) try to move to the B1G and I think they would take them and let ND hang or if they want in, go to 18 by taking MO too. The remainder of the ACC and BE would then merge. In this scenario substitute VT to SEC instead of Clemson.

While I can see a business case for MO, I just don't think they'll really fit in and that is important in the SEC. Unless they come in and kick arse (I mean come on) it could be 50+ years and maybe not even then.

For strategic reasons, I would go after TCU. It is a school whose administration and supporters are committed to success. They have a great staff that will be there for quite some time. With TCU you have A&M between TX and Houston and TCU between TX and OK in DFW. With 8 SEC games a year in the state of TX, the SEC would be in a great competitive position.

So my fav would be A&M, TCU, FSU and VT. It only expands the conference 200 miles west of the LA border; less to the east. It gains strong new presence in TX and VA and solidifies FL. Will never happen.

Pac-16 only happens if Oklahoma wants to join. Otherwise they'll remain 12 strong

Yes, if ESPN wants it bad enough.

Since they would be pulling in only Big 12 teams it's will be. Any other conference at this point is probably 2013.

ND has a TV contract with NBC. They are playing shite football right now and have been for years and get about 38 million a year through 2015 with part of that going to the opponents that they play. They don't need a conference. If the contract isn't renewed, then i see them thinking about it.

Wrong. Mizzou don't want no part of the SEC. They want the Big Ten, much easier.

Big Ten don't want Mizzou though.

I forsee Virginia Tech in our future.

The Big Ten will easily take them if conferences start expanding. Mizzou would make good matchups and rivalries with NU, Minnesota, Iowa, already play Illinois every year. If the Big 12 splits, they'd go after Mizzou.

I agree. Big 10 doesn't want Mizzou right now, but would take them out of the leftovers if the Big 12 implodes. Mizzou is a great fit as it adds the St. Louis and KC markets, is close geographically and is an AAU member.

But if ND starts winning consistently, then they will definitely stay Independent.

ND has had a bad run, but they're going to be a lot better under BK.
