Latest forecast for Pensacola on Sunday (day I was going to go fishing):

70% Chance of Heavy Rain
21 mph winds from SE

So I have a 30% chance of fishing!

I take it you aren't going out in the gulf...

Sunday...
South winds 25 to 30 knots diminishing to 15 to 25 knots.
Seas 7 to 9 feet.
Bays and coastal waterways rough.

It's a lot harder than you'd think to sink a sailboat on a lake. Not saying it can't be done. I've tried. A lot. Hell this year I was knee deep in water flowing like a river while standing on the deck in a particularly ill timed tack trying to save a saint's hat when a bad gust hit. But it still came back up.

Waves are what kills sailboats. And they have to be pretty big. Well that or hitting something and knocking your keel off, then you're getting wet.

Just whipped up deer spaghetti. Took out the last bit of my hog in the freezer. (neck). Pepper stew tomorrow. So all is not lost.

That sucks arse. I'm in Dallas and have been drinking since 5...it's gonna be a good weekend. Except for the whole possibly driving back to BR in a tropical storm/hurricane thing.

My flight to Dallas leaves MSY at 1:55 tomorrow. Hopefully everything goes on time, because I'm already cutting it close landing at DFW at 3:35.

About 500 doves in the field this afternoon. With a 20mph+ tail wind them bastards are fast. Plan is to sit in the barn drinking and cooking and maybe in breaks of rain try and shoot some. Still holding onto to hope. I really need to take life from something.
