Probably not. The cops didnt say he couldn't play, it was the coach.

yes and no....the police had probable cause based on witness testimony..so no he cant sue for False imprisonment..being arrested and then being acquitted isnt false imprisonment...
now later if he is found not guilty..depending on the facts of the case...he could sue the DA for unlawful prosecution or those that accused him of slander...but both are long shots....

Didn't he get out on bail immediately? BRPD would have be to caught in some kind of misconduct. Innocent people get arrested and charges are dropped all the time. Rarely do I hear about law enforcement losing lawsuits unless they act like that idiot in the Duke Lacrosse incident.

Nah. School of hard knocks...and he was seated on the front row. Sometimes that's just the breaks. You shake it off and keep going.

Stupidity is not grounds for a law suit!
Please just let JJ go away. LSU and the LSU athletic program is above and greater than this immature and stupid behavior!

Extraordinarily unlikely.

He will never get those 2 minutes he spent in jail back.

Based on the charges that were brought against him, he has no legal recourse to sue for false imprisonment. Besides, he turned himself in.

Half the football team used a dude's head as a soccer ball?

To be fair nobody here knows if anyone on the team has done that.

Eyewitnesses have said 100% Jordan Jefferson bent his head like Beckham.

You don't have to actually be in prison for there to be a tort of false imprisonment. If I break into your house and lock you in the closet, that's false imprisonment.

No. The authorities have immunity.
