Holy shite y'all I'm fricking gone. Anyways I want to express my enthusiasm of joining this conference. I know I share the view of MANY ags around the country. We want to join the SEC. Yes, there will be hardships at first, but this is the best decision for the Texas Aggies. "We're Texas". Thats what the shorwhorns say all the time. The matter of fact is though that TEXAS A&M represents the state of Texas better than anyone else. It is laughable how the "We're Texas" school ridicules the school that is country. Austin, TX is an outlier in this great state. I love Texas A&M and I can assure you that we are damn proud of our school. Win or lose the 12th man will always be behind this Fightin Texas Aggie Team.

We love women, we love beer, we love good food, and damn sure we like good football. SEC mates, do not be hesitant. We are closer to y'all than you think. I will not lie. I will have to get used to that deep south accent, but y'all will have to get used to us Texans. Cheers friends, on to next week. Hey LSU! You got your rival now

Just out of curiosity, what is the scoop out there in aggieland about LSU becoming a rival? Seems like the more obvious choice would be R-Kansas.

I like the thought of another A&M school being a decent rival of LSU's.

Almost all of my friends, who are all younger alums, see LSU as a much bigger rival. Most work in Houston in Oil and Gas though, so I think this might be what drives it.

I don't feel much grief towards the aggies as rivals. They feel more like a long lost brother. I think it may be the fact that they are not Texass, but a group of people with the same hatred for the shorthorns.

We kind of know each others pain of having to deal with Texas led conferences. It seems to be more of a friendly rivalry with the aggs.

there is more than one southern accent. the east texas accent is different also. since i have lived all over the south for 60+ years, i can detect many of the differences. the main key, imo, in getting used to the dialects is to not draw inferences about the people speaking of them. i have a friend in jackson, ms that sounds just like a redneck car mechanic and is, in fact, a rhodes scholar. you will get used to the south and perhaps even get to like it. and yes, i agree the sec fans will have to get used to you texans but i really think it will easy provided y'all don't universally pull that "superiority" shite. the aggies should be a natural fit in the SEC and i expect y'all to prosper as i think your recruiting will improve. there are lots of kids in texas that would love to play in the SEC and now have another option to moving out of state. i expect LSU's texas recruiting to take a hit and y'all will steal one of ours from time to time also. but, all's fair in love and war. welcome.

Aggies, can you do us a favor and drop all male cheerleaders? That would be great!

That will change.

You will learn to hate them. Rather quickly, too.

Most LSU fans are really excited about A&M joining the SEC because it gives us a border rival. Our traditional rivals, Tulane and Ole Miss, have fallen off the planet and Bama and UF have their own rivalries.

The Arkansas rivalry never really took. They made a big ugly trophy, like that was going to work. Texas A & M is a natural rival. LSU is an A & M university with a very similar historical, educational and athletic background.

Welcome aboard. We are going to beat your fricking brains out like a red headed step child.

Trust me, this is a big issue among our fanbase. The younger folk defintely want to add females on the sideline, the older folks are against it (for the most part). FYI, we actually have girls during basketball.

I know almost of every single Ag is pumped about joining the SEC. Trust me, it isn't just cause of Texas. The whole conference sucks from the leadership down to the schools themselves. There is zero camaraderie. Schools hate eachother in the SEC, but there is also a sense of pride in one another because they are your conference members. That does not exist whatsoever in the big12-2-1.

Im also very excited to be playing LSU again.

Maybe, but I didn't realize what a good program they have before the SECede thing:

(1) Solid and large fan base, lots of fans in DFW and Houston.

(2) Good football tradition (1 NC? 2 or 3 BigXIICs? Also they don't claim SWC or minor poll champs - looking at you arky).

(3) Will bring in lots of money.

(4) Solid academics (AAU).

(5) Good fans/ good posters (unlike some on here - again looking at you arky).

That may change, but it looks like this is a great score for us for now (gay-sailor yell leaders aside). I think playing in TX helps us recruit there too (I know it's debatable).

I hope this becomes a done-deal soon.

Do not remember posting.

LSU and A&M have played quite a bit. This rivalry can get pretty heated. A lot of people have been saying to play LSU in Reliant Stadium down in Houston, but I say frick that. Sick and tired of neutral game sites in which a home game is taken away from a fan base. Home and home, period. I hope after the Arkansas contract at JerryWorld expires we move towards home-home series.

The A&M/LSU rivalry has history and will bring a state rivalry element as well. Expect to see drunk Texans waving Texas flags all over the place. Louisiana and Texas are gold mines for football talent. It will be fun I can't wait! One thing is for sure we both love good food, drinking, and football.

I live in Birmingham and can't understand the Finebaum's callers either. It is a varied lot on there.
