If this has any validity I guess what they're looking for is new markets, Missouri and TExas A&M bring that. That gives LSU a rival and the hogs a rival and you add Houston/Dallas market and St. Louis market.

Maryland and Va Tech would give you that DC market as well.

I'm starting to think Clemson, Fla St don't really bring in any new viewers.

FSU is different from the Clemsons/GaTechs. First, FL is a big state population wise. Their smaller slice is big compared to others. Second, having FSU shifts more value to the SEC because we would have by far the dominant share of FL. If you want to advertise to the college sports audience there, then you would have to deal with us. In fact that would be true from Ark/LA to GA/FL.

If the conference adds two western teams and wants to keep the geographical split in teams - you'd likely see the end of the Iron Bowl every year. Auburn would be playing in the Eastern Division.

I'd like to see them add one team on each side to keep the divisions the same +1 new team.
