I know we would've preferred to redshirt him, but my god this kid would absolutely love to tear up the ducks.

With JJ likely out for awhile, potentially all year, we might want to think about making this kid our option/running QB. God knows we'll need him if JL and Mett are our only QBs. Not only can he throw, but he is a much better runner/athlete than Jefferson.

I've heard good things about him on scout team running Oregon's offense with Gore. Something to think about down the road.

redshirt him so we have him 2years after mett is gone. mett is perfectly capable of running the offense this year

Is a duel threat always necessary?

hey, i posted stuff about randall probably about a month ago just to remind people that we have a very talented dual threat guy on campus when everyone was talking about qb recruits. also, i saw him in some practice sessions and was trying to tell people that he will be a qb and will not switch, but what do i know? i'm just there watching the kid. i'm sure rantards know better than a guy involved in coaching and the recruiting process. pretty funny on here sometimes.

naturally, people bashed it and told me he would never play and so on. typical rant type shite ya know.

One of Randall/Rivers has got to be ready, and play this year. JL will have some injury this year(kind of like Matt Flynn-just hard going through the SEC). Metts needs a B/U, and a ready #2 guy, next year.

Russell Shepard with an powerful and accurate arm. This guy was a prize recruit. He slipped in under the radar because he didn't commit to LSU on National Signing Day. He once threw a pass that went 87 yards in the air in a QB camp. That my friends is comparable to Jamarcus Russell. Hopefully he is smarter than Russell He is for sure way more mobile.

Interesting side note is that Randall was an Oregon commit, he idolizes Dennis Dixon and grew up with Oregon posters on his walls in Florida.
However a couple weeks before signing day Oregon backed off him because of academic issues, and instead signed Marcus Mariota.

So Oregon's starting QB Darron Thomas was originally a LSU commit, and LSU has a QB in Randall that was originally commit to Oregon.
Toss in that Gary Crowton left Oregon to go to LSU, that both schools are implicated in the Willie Lyles thing, both schools have stars suspended for off-field issues, and there are plenty of parallels between the two programs going into this game...the broadcasters should have no shortage of things to discuss.

He has great physical attributes. They better not end up moving this guy to something like WR. He has a great arm and is fast. If JJ can be a 4 year project at LSU, then they better devote that to Randall because he looks way better than JJ's HS film ever did.

No, but if you don't have a dominant pocket passer like a Landry Jones or a Tom Brady, it helps. No one expects us to ask JL to throw for 300/game. He could use a few snaps off like we did with RP in 07
