If it would have been a bunch of white football players beating a black guy, would they have been charged with a hate crime? yea or nay

Explain to me the "race" thing in this? Black and white player arrested. Were they a little more forceful with JJ when taking his fingerprints?

Knoxville Tn Two White Coeds Murdered by Blacks a few years back. NO Hate crime charges.

I'm not a fan of hate crime enhancement. The bar seems to be lower for what constitutes hate crimes when its white on black as opposed to black on white criminal acts. However, they would still have to be some outward indication that the beating was racially motivated to be a hate crime.

The main problem with the legislation is when motivation is assumed. We don't need thought police.
