How is who started it relevant to charges of 2nd degree battery. Just cause someone swings first doesn't mean it's okay to kick then while they are down and defenseless at the end of the fight

everyone keeps on going back to this, I have seen a shite ton of fights at LSU bars and more than half the time someone is getting kicked. Hell, when I was at LSU some frat star hit me in the face with a bottle. None of these times have I ever seen cops get involved

i find it very very hard to believe that players just pulled some guys out of a truck and proceeded to beat them senseless. If this is the type of behavior they are capable of then why has this not happened before?? You know this is not the 1st time a group of players went to a bar together. My point is a brawl like this is not instigated by one side, there is mutual aggression by both parties involved. I just dont buy the line that JJ and friends were just group of thugs dragging people out of vehicles and stomping on faces unprovoked. Reminds me of a Doug Planchard story......

I wonder why they didn't share what they knew w/ the officer who responded to the call?

The cop didn't interview employees that night.

The employees were told not to speak with anyone until after speaking with police and attorneys. This has been coming for awhile; I'm glad its finally out.

Won't change a thing concerning the battery charge.

based on everything we've learned, this is how I think it played out:

-Lowery and girlfriend break up
-Lowery stalks x-girlfriend at home and then at bar
-Lowery not happy with Brad Wing for talking to his x-girlfriend and cusses at and punches him
-Lowery kicked out of Shady's
-Lowery (and friends that came to pick him up)waits on x-girlfriend and/or football players in parking lot so that he/they can start crap
-All hell breaks loose in parking lot and one of the "victims" (cough cough) gets kicked in the ordeal
-Lowery gets beat down

I will take that bet.

Not being a smart arse, but doesn't make sense.

The "victims" indicated they wanted to press charges, "Per the Police"

If police come back to these "Victims" and inform them they now they could have charges placed against them, I imagine all charges would go away.

No way everyone gets charged.

The main accusers credibility is absolutely shot at this point. No one is going to believe his accusations of who did it. And that's a pretty big deal.

And in this case there were injuries that warranted potential 2nd degree battery charges. If the players were stupid enough to not walk away after diffusing the guy, they should be booked, period. Just because the other guy started it isn't a green light to fracture 3 vertebrae.

I have no doubt the Lowery kid isn't some pure as white snow victim. That said, what happened in the bar can give you some insight into what mindset the players were, but the other 3 victims, including the one with the injured vertebrae (not lowery and not accused of throwing a punch) have not been implicated on the incident inside the bar.
