Bryan/College Station, TX College Station 101: While Texas A&M dominates the town of 90,000, Northgate and the historic district in downtown Bryan are the area's social hubs, where students and residents head out for pizza and a night of two-stepping. Why It Made Our List: Whether you're sipping a Lone Star at one of the 26 bars or strolling past art-and-music stores on Bryan's Main Street, it's easy to see how Aggieland's country-western heart has long inspired alums like actor Rip Torn. Don't Miss: The wood-paneled Dixie Chicken, where a caged pet rattlesnake competes for attention with Death Burgers topped with hot sauce. You'll pledge allegiance to the Texas flag after oak-smoked brisket at Martin's Place Barbecue (979/822-2031). NEXTHome of the Texas A&M Aggies
quote:
Home of the Texas A&M Aggies Extra Credit: Discover A&M's next music legend on First Fridays, when residents tap their feet to free bluegrass, jazz, and country performances at haunts like the Palace Theater stage (979/209-5528). Sure Beats the Dorm: La Salle Hotel (pictured) by Magnolia Hotels erected in 1928 and has been a city treasure since its shout-out in Lyle Lovett's 1986 hit "This Old Porch." If You Do Go for a Game: Even if you're a rival, it's worth attending a midnight Yell Practice at Kyle Stadium, where Yell Leaders lead the crowd through a series of Aggie Yells in preparation for the next day's game. Coach's Report: "Stop by Former NFL player and Aggie alum Mark Dennard's Wings 'N More. I often do a radio show there on game weekends."–Coach Mike Sherman

True, but a Lil Dooey's Catered Fried Platter of Fried Catfish, Fried Green Tomatoes, Fried Pickles, Onion Rings, and Fried Chicken, with that sauce of theirs..makes Starkvegas worth the trip..that and the road wins!

BCS still sucks. Sorry you made me say it. I tried to be polite.
Its a shithole, fwiw.

I guess I do.
Here is their gameday in a nutshell, SEC fans.
Fan Zone pics, varied games just pick and click
Spot The Hot in any of the albums. Literally, pick one single hot and copy/paste here. That's what NG will look like before and after a game. Maroon shirts, ill-fitting clothed men and OT 2's.

It's flat and rather overhyped for the student body population. Nothing to brag about for a "College Town" especially in the south.

Looks like heaven to me.
God, country and A&M

Not to mention Univ Golf Course is a dried up dead, fire ant infested waste of space

Good place for a strip mall and a Chilis.

The golf course is getting renovated. It's fine to play though for $19 now.
Traditions and Miramont are two of the nicest courses in the state though

Ok hawg fans, we get it. You hate A&M. You don't have to do this in every thread.
Edit: Missed that the OP provoked you piggies. Flame on. Just keep it out of other threads.

How can so many ugly facilities be built in one radius? The Ags are in for a shock when they see the campuses of the SEC.

Seriously though-they are going to lose their shite and want to rebuild the entire fricking campus once they go to UGA, Auburn, Ole Miss, etc...

I'm not saying University Golf Course is Pebble Beach, but we are in an absolute bitch of a drought. Maybe the worst in the history of the area.
CS is not a cultural haven, it is a college town. I've been/lived in College Station, Columbia, Lawrence, Baton Rouge and Norman. Baton Rouge is more of a city, but also isn't that nice. CS, Columbia, Lawrence and Norman are shitholes with awesome bars because they're college towns.
The difference lies within the A&M campus, which I will be the first to admit is not the prettiest. There are pretty spots (Administration building, Academic Quad, etc.) but it won't win any awards for beauty. If you're basing your opinion on A&M-to-SEC on the beauty of the campus, get after College of Charleston.
If you come to College Station for an away game, you will have fun, you will see a shite ton of our fans and you will not come away disappointed.
EDIT: I meant Columbia, MO not South Carolina
