We need something to divert attention from Baton Rouge right now.
Are the tweet rumors of a Tuesday or Wednesday A&M announcement credible?

The tweets seem to be pretty credible. One was from the A&M Scout site and the other was from Billy Liucci. I think we can safely say there will be some news this week.

I'm doing everything I can, which mostly involves posting on internet message boards whilst being mildly inebriated.

You'll know this deal is done when we're meeting for 2AM breakfast at the Waffle House on Airline.

If they (A&M and SEC) are in cahoots on maximizing the exposure they'll announce next Tues/Wed to coincide with the season kicking off.

I suggest everyone, who has a Scout.com account, log-on to their website and read the latest Article on the Aggies scout.com page.
If that isn't massive backtracking I'm not sure what is. They also admitted how much damage they've done to the Big12 with their reputation and if the SEC deal fell through they would head elsewhere, ha, right.
They also stated if the SEC doesn't find a 14th member to equal or greater the new revenue it wouldn't make since for the SEC to expand.
*According to their article the Aggies must announce exist from the Big12, first.
*The Aggies won't announce any move until the Texas and Baylor legal storm is resolved.
*The Aggies aren't leaving until the SEC finds a 14th or more teams.
*The SEC will not make a move unless Texas A&M's prom date is equal or greater value.
*Missouri wants to weigh their options of SEC vs Big10 when realignment begins therefore they are not looking to move anytime soon. (I'd go to the Big10 if them, more money and rivalries)
*Texas A&M also expects the Big 12 to negotiate the exist fee down from $30 Million quickly. (I'm sure the Big12 will get right on that..)
Yet, they are leaving tomorrow according to hogville and Texags.com

yeah the SEC is not going to do anything until the pieces are in place. I think the meeting with the SEC presidents now was more factual than previously thought. They are happy with the way things are now and A&M is trying to push them to get an invite.
Which will not work IMO

Wow, those bullet points all look like BS
A&M will be leaving the Big XII later this week more than likely. We wouldn't be leaving if we didn't know where we were headed

They are directly from your Texas A&M Scout.com website, try again.

Right, scout.com isn't associated with Texas A&M University..

Idiotic comment.

None are affiliated. So the university isn't feeding them info. Liucci has the best inside info. His site therefore is the most credible and most visited.
Sandhop isn't bad either. Still not Scout.
And Brent Z is a writer for the SA news. He's just as good as Liucci

Not true. Reporters from Scout and Rivals.com must have approval from the University to use any marketing or logos associated with the school and conference.
These reporters are constantly in the athletic department and talking to coaches and administration on various topics, daily or weekly. They may not be representatives of the University but they are associated with the University.

Doesn't mean their info is worth a damn. Maybe scout is great for Arkansas. When it comes to A&M there's one place to get the best info.
After last year Loftin filmed a 30 min interview with TA. Not Scout. And Luicci has been around since the 90's. He's well respected in the athletic department

The big 12 exit fees are not set like that, and no way would it be $30 million considering they distribute around ~20 million to the big schools in the conference (under the new deal). They simply withhold a percentage of the money they distribute at the end of the season. They can't go asking for more.
They'd also be facing court battles and open records requests/depositions on all the other member institutions dealings with other conferences if they decided to not negotiate the fees down. I seriously doubt they want all that to come to light.
People that haven't been in the big 12 give them way too much benefit of the doubt as a conference as far as knowing what they are doing. They don't, there is no strong conference leadership there outside of the Texas AD's office, which is the defacto conference office. They like to bluster and make threats, but that's all they've got.

Beat the shite out of the Rust Belt 12. I would love to have an OOC with the Huskers for the "frick the Big 12" bowl
