Choctaw, I haven't gotten into any disagreements with you since last football season, so I really don't want to start just yet, but...
if I had the time, or the want, to look it up I know I can find a Les Miles quote somewhere after the Tennessee, Florida, and McNeese games stating that Jarret Lee seems comfortable coming off of the bench. So freaking what? I bet Aaron Rodgers would look good coming off the bench as well, but the Packers aren't going to start Matt Flynn just to get Rodgers a couple of series to "see the defense".

Ill attest to that. I remember the comments.

CostaRica, since your out of the country you probarly don't follow college football that much, but for those that do remember Matt Stafford threw twice as many int's as touchdowns & U of Tx Garrett Gillbert, 5 star recrute threw 17 int's to 10 TD's last year so why do you bring up stats from 3 yrs ago.Would not surprise me if Lee is college football's comeback player of the year!

Wait a minute- Maybe the NCAA has secretly ruled that because JaMarcus Russell's NFL career was so hysterically bad, they've decided to let him come back for this season! And then maybe LSU was so busy enforcing a 400 calorie-per-day diet on him that these other players thought they could just sneak away while nobody was looking.....This would explain both his re-enrollment AND the broken curfew!
Makes about as much sense as some of the other stuff we've heard, right?

I think we're set at left tackle though...

The "coming off the bench" comments are my own, my observation. It just looked like he was more comfortable when he could come in with a "nothing to lose" mentality. My 2 cents, ain't worth much, however.

I think history shows that Lee is more comfortable off the bench, for example, the Bama game in '09, he comes in against the eventual national champs on the road, completes a couple of passes and leads a drive to take the lead in the fourth quarter. The next week against La Tech he starts and goes 7 for 22.

hearing some strong rumors that Coach Kragthorne and Coach Stud really like Jarrett Lee and I would not be surprised to see Lee receive more playing time this season.
In his defense, Dandy made these comments on Saturday when he also said he still thought JJ would start against Oregon.

I'll throw this fact out there again. When ZM gets into a game, he will never relinquish the QB gig until his eligibility runs out.

he didn't really play that well against Bama in 09. but he looked good off the bench last yr because I think he's just more comfortable as a QB period. I think he'll do well if he gets the starting nod.

his first 2 drives were good, once Bama went ahead and Scott got hurt they started sending the house. On the first drive he completed 2 of 3 to get a first down but the false start cost them the fourth down play. Then on the second drive he completed a pass before Scott had the big run.

Better chance of JaMarcus starting in two weeks than J.J.
All aboard the General Lee!
(I can hear Waylon Jenning's voice as CBS freeze-frames Lee's pass in mid-air...)

I agree. I thought it might be something insightful. Instead, it's a guess.
