It's a good list. But it's pretty standard.

It bothers me that nome of these lists never try to change the order up to drastically. Like it would be to risky to put something newer in the top 20 or so. It'd be nice if people switched em up a bit every now and then and give you some reason to debate. Nawata mean?

Like put "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!" at like friggin 10 and put "you talkin to me?" at 97. Stir the pot IGN.

That list is amazing. The order of these lists is normally irrelevant because everyone has their own favorites, but despite the order, they did put a bunch of amazing scenes. Here are my favorites if I were to pick one out of every 10 (freaking tough btw):

91-100
quote:

096. Rain-Soaked Escape - The Shawshank Redemption
but "Why so serious?" was a damn close second.

81-90
quote:

090. "What's in the box?" - Se7en
Love that scene. Dammit Brad Pitt, that was his plan.

71-80
quote:

076. Moloko Milk Bar - A Clockwork Orange
Great scene.

I do like how The Pulp Fiction scene is titled "Sam Jackson Quotes Scripture."

61-70
quote:

061. Psych Ward Escape - One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
That was a very tough group. This scene, Death of Roy Batty, Yipee Ki-Yay, and Bike Jump were pretty much grouped together. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is one of my all time favorites though.

51-70
quote:

055. "Failure to communicate" - Cool Hand Luke
"What we have here is a failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach. So you get what we had here last week, which is the way he wants it. So, he gets it."

41-50
quote:

042. The Flag Speech - Patton
That one was easy. Top 5 favorite movie. "We're going to go through them like crap through a goose."

31-40
quote:

039. "I'm walkin' here!" - Midnight Cowboy
None really stood out to me in this group. I like this one because of the fact that it wasn't in the script and the cabbie didn't know they were shooting a movie.

21-30
quote:

027. First Brachiosaurus Reveal - Jurassic Park
Another really tough one. This one barely edges out Star Wars and Godfather II.

11-20
quote:

015. Boulder Dash - Raiders of the Lost Ark
Indiana Jones kicks arse. Simple enough.

1-10
There is no way to pick just one here. Too many good choices.
quote:

010. Chestburster - Alien
quote:

005. "You're gonna need a bigger boat." - Jaws
quote:

004. "You talkin' to me?" - Taxi Driver
quote:

002. "Make him an offer he can't refuse" - The Godfather
001. "I am your father" - The Empire Strikes Back
I can't pick.

At first I wasn't paying attention and thought the end of your first post was the end of the list. I was thinking there was no way I haven't even heard half of those and how the F is Luke I am your father not #1?

Great list, I would include the "want to see a magic trick" line from the dark knight.

Which one and why?

I'm guessing it's The Godfather.

Star Wars...obviously it's culturally relevant - I just don't think it should be this relevant a film. It's not even the scene that stands out for me in those films.

I think the prequels may have a ruined Star Wars for me but a franchise based on selling merchandise to kids shouldn't be #1. Doesn't really matter...just a list.

I think we all have movie moments that stand out the most for each individual.

For example - "Mrs Robinson, you're trying to seduce me" just jumps to my mind when I think of great movie moments and would be Top 5.

034. Mrs. Robinson Leg Shot - The Graduate

I was a little kid growing up in the 90s when I first saw The Empire Strikes Back. I went into the movie without knowing anything and I was completely blown away by this scene. I was in denial until I finally worked up the courage to watch Return of the Jedi. That scene probably impacted my early movie experience more than any other and changed the way I looked at film as well as the simple nature of right and wrong. Most people were affected the same way I was. I mean, before 1980, who would have ever thought that a hero so pure and decent could ever be related to a man so evil and revolting? That's a culture shock if there ever was one. How could you not rank this moment #1?

Hundreds of other great movies existed before Star Wars that have more cultural impact than how they affect children.

Wait, what?

I'll give you there were movies that had cultural impact before Star Wars, but to say hundreds is insane. The Maltese Falcon basically defined film noir, but it still pales in comparison to Star Wars as a cultural impact.
