I've said it before.... there is ZERO leadership on this team. Another year of "It's all about me".

Another year?

Kelvin Shepard, Nevis, Barksdale, Ridley, PP, Pep...all good solid citizens and leaders.

Coach Miles has been weak in the QB area of recruiting..
He's weak in more than just that one area, many have a blind eye when it comes to that.

he will have relinquished his leadership role

IMO Jefferson has rarely shown "leadership" skills. He has, from time to time shown, athletic skills.

I was ready to buy that he had indeed improved under Kragthorpe but the proof will be in how well he performs on a regular basis.

I've read that his father says that JJ was, in fact, trying to get players out of the situation. If that turns out to be the case, in spite of the current impression otherwise, then he will have demonstrated leadership.

I was very excited about JJ having a great year and making up for his past problems. But, once again, he shows that he is mentally incapable of leading the team to a higher level.

I don't buy this from Jefferson's father. Too many people implicated Jefferson as part of the problem not the solution.

JJ is Kelvin Sheppard's boy, ENOUGH SAID!!!!!!!!
Sheppard couldn't even tackle Tebow (he didn't even want to try). Both Miles and J.J. should bolt for Jacksonville State!!!!!!! We've had enough. This is embarassing. It's time for both to GEAUX regardless of CURRENT RANKING!!!!!!!

My post history as well as others on here have widely documented his shortcomings, often glossed over due to the fact that he 'miraculously' wins games for us either on trick plays or in the last drive of the game.

Look, in my opinion, the details of what happened at the bar are legally relevant and will clearly come out.

But the primary problem I would have with this incident if I were a fan is that those guys had NO business being out after curfew. The season is 2 weeks away....they have had 9 months to dick around. JJ knows better.

Chris Rock said it best....NOTHING good happens at 2 in the morning.

This exactly what I am talking about. Everyone keeps talking about if he was helping or if he was taunted into it. All that is irrelevant. JJ made the stupid decision to break the rules-Again.

I know many players(starters) on the team that would never do something like this. They purposely stay as far away from all of these situations as possible. All they are worried about is making their grades, performing well and following the rules and instructions in order to get better and win. This is what they should all be doing right now. They will have plenty of time for showing off and celebrating later: WHEN THEY HAVE EARNED IT. They have earned their scholarships, now they need to earn respect and learn how to win as a TEAM MEMBER. That starts with following the RULES on and off the field. They are not suggestions.

The curfew thing would have gone unnoticed and a non issue. First when we say marine, how big was this guy? We have a young man from our neighborhood who stepped up and now is in Iraq. He is every bit of 5' 8" 160#s. Being a marine just shows that he is brave and loves his country and is willing to put his life on the line for someone he cares about. It doesn't make him a Billy bad arse. The image of a guy like this being kicked in the face while lying on the ground, pisses me off. That is what 10 witnesses have stepped forward and are saying that is what they saw. That is all we have to go by for now. What other side is there to hear?

Think about how stupid this statement is. This is exactly what the curfew is for - to keep them out of trouble. If they had followed the rules, none of this would have happened. This never happens to the responsible, intelligent guys who are in their rooms abiding by that stupid little curfew.
