Background....im 25, was a 2.8 handicap when i was 16-17, went off to bama for 5 yrs, probably played 10 total times while there, since ive been out ive played probably 8-9 times (shooting between 85-80 each time).....so what is a good tip playing with such a long layoff? I was thinking about focusing on my shoulder turn and keeping my lower body quiet and in-sync. I dont want many swing thoughts first time back out. Thanks

That's about as good of a tip as any.

Grip it and rip it.

Your takeback should be Low and slow. When I tend to take breaks from golf I get to quick.

Keep your left arm straight (only if you bat from the right side)

If you have to go to the store, buy some smoked paprika. I can't recommend this strongly enough. I use it in a lot of meat rubs/recipes.
I gave up golf at 25. Picked it up at age 48. That's 23 years between rounds. Did not practice before coming back but I had been playing Sr. League baseball and it's a lot harder to hit a slider than a ball sitting on a tee.
I was surprised to see that my drives were the same length and accuracy as before. But my short game went to hell. A golfer told me later that chipping and putting requires more practice after a lay off than does driving. So that would be my advice. Practice your short game.

Then just make sure you have a good grip.

Shot 41-38.... Had to leave driver in the bag post 5th hole... Had the mad tiger push syndrome. Hit 3 iron off the rest of par 4's. Did pull driver on par 5 18th and mauled it
