Texas television market, which could bring every SEC team up from $18 million annually to somewhere in the neighborhood of $24-$26 million per team.
We have a winner.
Why do people fail to grasp this?

There may be more TV coverage in Texas than there is now.... but I don't think the entire State is suddenly going to take a liking to watching Vandy vs. KY --- or freakin UGA vs. UF, or LSU vs. Bama....
If you have ever lived in TX -- you understand --- TX - it's like a whole other county. Some good, some bad in my opinion... but definately not a "go with the crowd" kind of place... aTm has a widespread following, but not so much to outdo UT and the remaining Big 12 teams, I'd bet.
As for recruiting.... aTm to the SEC definately works against LSU's recruiting in the State of Texas.... we always had that advantage.
Would we have gotten Ben Wilkerson, Matt Flynn, and others had aTm been able to say, "we play all the same teams, and you're 5 hours closer to home and your parents", etc. Maybe but maybe not. On the recruiting side, I really think this is a negative for LSU.
