If i ever hear an OU fan say "Texas can't tell us what to do" I'm just going to laugh in their faces.
I agree. Watching OU through this whole process has been shocking. It's like they don't mind getting pushed around.

What is there to be surprised about? Texas has all the money and pull. I mean what the frick is Oklahoma and its 3.75M residents going to do. Much like Canada is America's hat, Oklahoma is Texas' hat. Whether they ever admit it or not.

I don't think you understand how this whole thing works...
Post Colorado-Nebraska departure it was explained that OU hadn't been vocal so that all the options were open. We have to do what's in our best interest and if right now it's sticking with Texas, then so be it.
Not because you don't hear anything means that nothing is happening. Look at Missouri (they started the whole Big Ten thing) and A&M, both ended up getting ridiculed.

Texas literally has over 6.5 times the population of Oklahoma and a big arse TV deal. Do you rednecks really think winning football games is the biggest factor in determining leverage in these deals? Tejas politics laughs at the thought of "Oklahoma politics".

Big 10 told yall to frick off. When Texas says "here boy, we're going west!" you'll follow them like the good lap dog you've become. Here's the funny thing, Texas will poison whatever conference they go to, because they want to run it. Big egos and what not.

It aint over for A&M. And they know how to do what's best for them rather than play loyal stooge. I mean, damn, I used to respect Oklahoma.

Dude, do you understand where most of our recruits come from? Do you how bad our recruiting will get if we go to another conference?

OU needs the Texas tie for recruiting purposes. They also do not have the freedom to flirt with other conferences because they're tied to Oklahoma State. Basically renders them in a powerless position. In the meantime, yeah, their football program is pretty stout and the Big XII is going to present a pretty easy road to BCS games. They aren't in too bad of a spot.

You're saying Okie doesnt have enough pull to get recruits without playing in the same conference as big brother? Damn, I guess the six titles you won while in the big 8 dont count then.

I hear Oklahoma, OK State and 2 other B12 schools approached Big Ten as package and were told no. Academic reasons.

Maybe it isnt true, but i think it just may be.

I don't see what's wrong with what OK is doing. I don't see it as them being Texas' bitch. There's no reason they should want to leave the B12 right now. They only have UT as in conference competition and when the B12 finally implodes, they'll have no problem finding a new home. They'll probably win the B12 for at least two more years (and that's probably about as long as the conference will last). They're playing their cards just right.

Yeah we never approached the Big 10, we wouldn't even have a chance to get in. Officially we talked to the Pac 12(10,16) and the SEC last summer. Again it's cute and simple to say we're Texas bitch, but give me another viable option that would be better right now (keep OSU in mind). Texas is doing all the hard work to keep the Big 12 together. When the shite hits the fan we will find a new home, that's for sure. Right now our recruiting/money deal/shot at a national championship is pretty good and no need to look for green pastures for now.

Stop and think.

OU and UT have the EASIEST ride to the BCS. It's like the SWC of old when the winner of one game (UT/Pigs) determined champion or the Big 8 (winner of OU/NU) determined champion.

That's why the SEC rocks. 12 diverse yet unified in belief and tradition and balanced.

Your conference doesn't help you recruit the state of Texas, your location and prestige does. You must not follow recruiting much.

That says it right there...As long as Texas and OU have each other in the same conference, the winner of the OU Texas game is on a fast track to the BCS...maybe even the championship game. I think both Stoops and Brown realize that path is much easier in the present alignment than in would be if these schools went anywhere else like Pac 10, Big 10 or certainly SEC.
