Full statement
Statement from Dr. Bernie Machen, Chair, Southeastern Conference Presidents and Chancellors:
“The SEC Presidents and Chancellors met today and reaffirmed our satisfaction with the present 12 institutional alignment. We recognize, however, that future conditions may make it advantageous to expand the number of institutions in the league. We discussed criteria and process associated with expansion. No action was taken with respect to any institution including Texas A&M.”

I saw that also, Machen should have not said anything because everyone knows it is a done deal. He is just pissed about FSU to the SEC right now.

I wouldn't be surprised by this. The SEC is a great conference as it is, why expand? This is very beneficial for A&M but what do the SEC schools get out of this?

The SEC can't take action until after the BOR meeting, anyway. This is posturing to avoid litigation.

They just announced that on the ESPN radio here in Baton Rouge a minute ago. Said that's for today, no telling what will happen on Monday.

Slive is an attorney and this is all legal posturing. A&M is also doing their own legal/Texas Political posturing.
