I say screwed.. They will have a WAC schedule..

If OU leaves, Texas basically has a shitty conference all to itself with an automatic bid to the BCS. That ain't screwed, pal.

They would more than likely go independent. The PAC-12 would probably give them a call but I don't know if they would accept the invitation.

They'll be better off IMO as an independent with their new network and deal.

Texas will not be screwed...they can take the Notre Dame route and go independent and have a solid schedule...they can schedule Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, other Texas schools, other Big 12 schools, etc.
Texas is one of the few schools that can be successful with a move to independence...

The PAC-12 and Big-10 won't allow the Longhorn Network. As they already have a contract with ESPN, that means those two are out. They'll end up independent if the Big-12 dies.

Without a strong conference no BCS . they will be no better off than boise.. TV deal may go away as well..

Texas would have it made if OU decides to come too.

If the conference is that weak the automatic bid might be gone. ND doesn't have one. Why should Texas? This might finally give birth to playoffs.

Good point .. This would probably bring a playoff system much closer..

Texas would be fine in football as a indy, they'd have to find something for the other sports but that's doable
plenty of schools will schedule Texas in football, findiong 12 opponents wouldn't be a issue

Their SOS takes a major hit.

there network ratings would stink..

Yeah, I also think they wouldn't have a problem in the other 2 majors either.

CERTAINLY the automatic bid status would be reviewed and possibly withdrawn at the point of OU leaving too. Keeping it the same with such a diminished group of schools would be bullshite.
