Have you guys heard anything about this?

The story running around New York is now the Big 12 will try to get TCU back from the Big East which maks sense. The Big East wants a Name that brings increased TV markets. Southern Miss doesn't do that. Central Florida?

Yeah this is their big chance for the Big East but by the time everything is done they may not be a BCS conference anymore

Southern Miss could bring the state of Mississippi, the New Orleans metro area, and Mobile Metro area.

Yeah Southern can bring the Hattiesburg Metro Area, the Columbia Metro Area, the McComb Metro Area, etc....why wouldn't the Big East jump at that

Haven't heard anything about that, and market wise it wouldn't make sense. I'd love it though as I'd get to see my Panthers.

Southern Miss brings nothing to the table. They are in the best situation that they can possibly be in right now.

Southern Miss makes far more sense for the ACC, particularly if the SEC raids and takes any ACC program; I'd expect the ACC to possibly try to grab at WVU or South Florida out of the Big East, if the Big Ten tried to make a power move to nab a Pitt or a Syracuse and effectively make the Big East a corpse.

I'd love to see Southern Miss move to a BCS conference. They have always been a consistently good program with a loyal fanbase. They do a lot with a lack of funding and being in a bsc conference would help their athletic department out substantially. They deserve it.

usm would need a miracle to get out of cusa into an aq conf. im afraid we are destined for the sunwacusa hybrid, when all this expansion is over

won't happen, USM is a solid school and athletic program but they aren't great and they aren't in a great geographic location. meaning not much of a coveted market.

At best they should hope for whats leftover from the Big 12 to take expand toward them and take them
