Im thinking about taking the saints for the first half at -1.5...I really like this pick. What do yall think. Can the Saints cover that spread against san fran, even with there 2nd and 3rd team in?

Wow, you're going to gamble on a Preseason game? Jesus, just go to Harrah's or call those 1-800 #'s about having an addiction to gambling...

Because teams don't play to win in preseason so it's even more of a guess than normal.

Honestly some of the sharps prefer betting on preseason to regular season.
But the thing to remember is that they A) do intense homework and B) have a lot of confidence in what the gameplans for each team will be.
Tonight is a bit of a crapshoot IMO. Harbaugh's first game, the unsettled QB situation in SF would be great in a normal game where Brees plays 100% of the snaps, but in a preseason game Brees will play 1-2 series while the Niners may have THEIR first team offense for most of the 1st half.
Traditionally more "established" teams like the Saints only play their key starters 1 series whereas young "up and coming" teams with new coaching regimes like SF need to play the starters longer to get a better feel for them. But last night's New England game kind of shot that theory to hell as well, so who knows?

If you really need to take them, our backup could probably start for SF

49ers 24
Saints 17
This is preseason, and the first team offense is only supposed to take 14 snaps.

Hey doubledown...good thing I didn't take your dumb advice cause I won 1300 bucks on the first half spread..and for everyone else in this forum who thought the saints would lose..have some faiths in the saints 2nd and 3rd team.
