Is La'el Collins expected to get any playing time this year or redshirt?

I know practice just started but I was wondering if he is expected to compete for time.

Isn't he backing up a couple positions? I'd expect him to not redshirt

PT

Anybody know if he's practicing with the upperclassman early or the rookies late?

Redshirt if not needed.

He's gonna be on the 2 deep. Not redshirting is my guess.

Wow. Either we are real thin on the line or he is a beast.

Just my opinion. We aren't thin, I think he's that good.

He has been moved to guard. He'll be a backup and probably not redshirt this year. I would think he could get playing time late in games.

me too I just haven't heard the same talk about him as you hear about the freak. And I know it is completely different playing o-line and d-line.

He's going to be a starter next year and with that being said he needs to get experience and practice.

He will be the #2 LT behind Faulk, so he will definitely play. The coaches have said he will play.

He will start at LG next year IMO.

Only way he challenges for starting this year is if we suffer a rash of OL injuries.

I agree.

Ok so what is the deal with Jeremy Hill? Is he even on the team?

He isn't on the team, his status is way up in the air. At best he hope to greyshirt this year and join the team in the spring.

He's the 7th best O-linemen we have this year.

LT: Chris Faulk
LG: Josh Dworacyzk
C:: PJ Lonergan
RG: Will Blackwell
RT: Alex Hurst

Then you have T-Bob Hebert trying to time in that rotation at multipule positions. Being a 5th year senior he will see more time then Collins this year(IMO).

Josh D may not be fully recovered. T Bob would start at LG with Collins the backup.

To quote Coach Miles, there is no way we can afford to keep him off of the field this year. He said this at a speaking event last week.

Should be a beast!
