quote:The depth chart. Taylor and Loston
based on what?
Who you think the starters will be?

Dude could be the backup for the rest of this year, and never get one start, and still end up starting almost 40 games in his college career.
That's WITH Reid on campus, as well.
Taylor's got one more year, and this is an outstanding problem to have.
I've heard Reid put on great weight, hasn't lost quickness, and is looking good. But remember that Loston lost his 1st year due to a significant injury to his wrist. It had to heal properly.
He was also raw.
Compare that to Reid, who got the Carrier guy whose now at Zachary to coach him up bigtime when he was still at Dutchtown. Reid was already a good player, but the technique and early coaching he got before he got to LSU put him ahead of the game last year, when Loston was just getting back on the field after over a year off of it, and just getting back to normal Strength & Conditioning-Wise, too.
Reid came in more poised to make immediate impact because he didn't lack for technique and coaching coming in. Loston did, and then got saddled by injury.
In other words, short term, Loston's ceiling was lower because of coaching they had when both were in HS. Now that the coaching is something that's-all things considered-equal, we may see Loston overtake Reid as he has a higher ceiling.
We may not.
But, this does not mean Loston is a poor player, or isn't developing, and it certainly doesn't mean he's a bust.
The secondary is brimming with talent. Simon, Claiborne, Mathieu, Taylor, Reid, Loston, Brooks, & do NOT sleep on Ronnie Vinson & Sam Gibson, who were redshirted their 1st years on campus (Vinson had a pick in the Spring Game & looked good when I rewatched it this weekend).
We have an absolute GLUT of talent and a great teacher & coach.
Loston is biding his time. The book ain't even close to being written-or closed-with Craig.
