I'd tell Alleva to not come back unless he's got Davis on the plane with him.

No way. Miles is better than him.

Sure ... who cares about integrity? This is the SEC!!!

he was fired because of what some players did on his watch. i believe he is innocent of any wrongdoing. in today's north carolina world even a hint of impropriety brings the alumni down on the university. they regale at being "anti-athletics". from what i have read of the situation (which granted may not be 100% accurate) davis was submarined by some of his players and that could happen to any coach. it is, imo, why coaches are not loyal to any school and take care of this kind of stuff in their contracts. butch davis is gonna make big bucks in severence.

Don't forget that Butch Davis also brought in John Blake (aka the Black Santa). Blake was dirty and everyone knew it. It wasn't until the NCAA started snooping around that Blake "decided" to resign. That hire was 100% on Butch Davis. If Davis was innocent of any wrongdoing, it was because he brought Blake in to do his dirty work.

butch davis is just another guy everyone respects so much with so little to his actual resume. built the early 2000s miami dynasty.... but didnt win shite with them. built the greatest defense to ever not play while at carolina.
just another guy with a good publicist who you would think had never lost a game by the way people talked about him.

Les is head and shoulders above Davis.

In a couple of words - I never wanted Butch. So I never wished for him.

I'll bet it's a last ditch attempt to minimize the upcoming sanctions.
"If UNC has no claim to fire Davis "with cause," he would be owed $3 million to $4 million."
I wonder if anyone worth having is de-committing or transferring?

Never really preferred him. Not because he's a bad coach. I think he his a very good coach who has proven success in most, if not all, of his jobs. It's sad that the hypocrisy of the powers at be claimed another victim.

Problems always seem to follow Davis and always, he's innocent. Really?
