Lots of folks use those Honda generators, but isn't there an "off brand" that is also extremely high quality?

I can't think of the name of it for the life of me, but I'm trying to think ahead for tailgating/hurricane season.

Thanks in advance.

Home Depot has a Generac 2000w for under $600 I believe. Probably half the price of a Honda.

After reading several threads on here and doing some research,I bought a Generac 2000 Xi last year, used it for a couple of games and was very happy with it. Noise level is comparable to the Honda. Bought it on E-bay for less than half the price of the Honda.

Hope that helps.

I bought a brand new in the box w/ warranty in my name Honda EU2000i for $800 on Craigs list. It is just great. This is the red Honda model that rev's up when you need more power or purrs quietly with just the tv plugged in at our tailgates. Look on Craigs list.

Don't buy a cheap generator. Honda gens are great, yamaha is as good for a little cheaper. I see lots of Kipor's around campus. The quietest will be the inverter type, they are also more expensive. You can get one without an inverter but be aware that it will be significantly louder.

Amazon is a good place to shop around and compare, lots of specs and reviews.

Check out these folks:

Alamia.com

I bought a Honda EU2000i a couple of years ago. About $900 shipped. Perfect for tailgating, camping, power outages, etc.
