We would be in really good shape if this kid was at LSU right now. Was he ever considering LSU? Didnt his father also play at Penn St.?

1.Florida, 2.Oklahoma/Penn St., 3. LSU. We slow played Mike for a while mostly due to his injury to the foot in August, yet an offer was on its way after the season but it was to late. After Urban lied to him about depth chart situations Florida was dropped and he took a visit to Penn St. where JoPa really swayed him on early playing time. Playing time along with the fact that his dad and brother Pat who was at school at the time played for Penn St.
Many will say he was Penn St. from the get go, but comming from someobody who grew up with Michael, he enjoyed watching LSU and they had just as good a shot as anybody else but just didnt put much into him until it was to late.
..and yes if he were here the LB situation would be a little better. I admitt to be biased but I have to be from growing up one of his good friends, but Louisiana has not seen a more natural LB in a very long time. When we would go to banquets for all-district honors, coaches from all over would tell him to his face he is the best LB they have seen in over a decade...very underrated guy who has been plauged by injuries but still has a great shot at all-big 10 and getting drafted.

Not really. And yes.

It's hard to nab legacy recruits. An example is Mario Edwards who on some sites is tabbed as the #1 recruit in TX. He's going to FSU because his dad played there despite every TX school drooling over him. Another poster said his brother was playing there at PSU therefore making it even less likely that he would've chosen LSU. It's not like LSU was competing against ULL for a legacy.

is it that time of year for this thread to pop up again?
you'll the crowd that says he was always Penn St and then Mandeville people who will say he wanted to go to LSU, but they just didn't show him enough love.
