Also said (and I’m sure this will freak everyone out) that he is currently mad at Mettenberger. Someone asked a follow up question about this, and he said something about expecting our players to show strength and conviction and that Mett wasn’t the only player he was currently unhappy with

Sounds like some of the players are just as unhappy that the best QB we have isn't going to be playing.

He also had a ton of praise for Steven Rivers, mentioned his size and work ethic, and specifically brought him up two different times when discussing players he was excited about.

If Mett won't get to play this year because of "golden boy" and next year he might get forced into competing for the job he should be pissed.

Please stop. That is no where in my OP, nor is there any "in between the lines" meaning.

Seriously, how did you get this from reading what that original post said?

I'm the one who wrote the original email...that wasn't at all what I was saying. I was trying to say that in his later comments Miles indicated that Mett is not the only player on the team who is dealing with whatever the particular issue is (based on things I've heard/read since it sounds like it has something to do with academics).

Are you fricking kidding me? What a pussy arse thing to post. If he doesn't want to have to compete for the job every single day he is here, then GTFO. I can't believe you would support this, if it were even true. The minute players don't have to compete for their jobs every practice is the day the program starts declining.

Sorry but id think more rplayers would be behind Jj and lee over mett. Lee and JJ have been there 4-5 years. Theyve gone through the work and the ups and downs since 07. All the other upperclassmen are behind those guys.
