You going to travel a lot? (Also, define a lot) How much do you usually spend on hotel rooms (in other words, do you have a budget?) Also, will you be traveling to smaller towns or to larger cities?
I have a Hilton card and am in Hilton properties a LOT. I also stay in Marriotts depending on the cities I visit. Both have good rewards, especially once you get higher in their rewards rankings (it's pretty awesome to be a Hilton Diamond).
I don't think there's going to be a huge difference between the benefits of being a Hilton credit card holder as opposed to a Marriott credit card holder. Just depends on which chain you'll be staying in most frequently.

I will not be traveling too much, more along the lines of getting whichever Hotel's CC, racking up points from using my CC for work, and using those points to redeem hotels for vacations. I just wasn't sure if one chain was more generous with their rewards than the other. I am more familiar with the Marriott properties since my dad has been a Platinum status with them for years
