To quote Andy Rooney, "frozen custard has eggs, ice cream does not".
Frozen custard is very good and a real treat, but sometimes it is not what I'm aiming for. My vanilla ice cream has milk, cream, sugar and vanilla (bean if I have, otherwise extract). I will add almost any fresh fruit, peaches, strawberries, bananas etc. Another variation is using real maple syrup, I have an unending supply stream, instead of sugar and add pecans for maple/pecan IC.

Well you are right even though I can't stand Andy Rooney. Most people just don't differentiate.
