Lots of LSU purple and gold to watch the Red Sox roll last night at Minute Maid Park. A Red Sox fan from Boston asked why the LSU-Red Sox connection. Any thoughts?

Its funny you ask that, my brother and I are both Red Sox fans and were from La. I have no clue to tell you the truth why were fans, just adopted them as our team I guess. O ya, he's also at the game this weekend, supporting Red Sox and P&G!

Possibility #1. Could be due to the number of football players that have helped the Patriots to a Super Bowl.

Possibility #2. Bandwagon fans

Possibility #3. The Zs were Houston's AAA for a shot time.

Possibility #4. Houston is close

Possibility #5. I have no idea.

bunch of bandwagon douche bags who hopped on the Red Sox Nation bullshite back in 2004. can't go to a bar in Baton Rouge without some tool sporting a Red Sox hat. the majority of them I've met have never even been to Massachusetts.

guess it was cool a few years ago to show your hate of the Yankees by supporting Boston, but now the Red Sox have basically become the Yankees.

I was there yesterday and didn't notice this. Mainly b/c I'm a Yankees fan and when I see the Red Sox, I see Red. frick them. Anyway, I really don't think there's a LSU-Red Sox connection unless you're looking for it and want to see it.

I might be wrong, but didn't Todd Walker play for the Red Sox in 2003 when they were in the playoffs? Boston didn't make it to the World Series that year, but it was cool to see LSU being represented.
