The same JJ Hickson who was so untouchable that they wouldn't part ways with him to get Amar'e Stoudemire?

Should be fun to watch Hickson, Cousins, Evans, Thornton, and Jimmer fight for shots. I like it from the Cavs end, Casspi looked really promising his rookie year, and should benefit going from Evans to Kyrie as his PG.

Nice. A few years ago he couldn't be moved for Amare

My thoughts exactly.

The fluctuation in his trade value obviously displays the mental stability of Dan Gilbert.

This isnt the whole story. There was no point in signing an aging AS if James wouldnt resign. He would have brough max. JJ at his price was a much better bet long term, James was gone anyways.

Im going to miss JJ, I thought he really stepped up his play this year. A good pick-up for the Kings.

Nice. Trade a younger player for a guy that averaged less points, rebounds, assists, and blocks while shooting for a lower FG%

James wasn't going to leave if they won it all. With Amar'e and James, it's pretty hard to imagine that they wouldn't have at least won the Eastern Conference. And I'm pretty sure they would have had home-court over Los Angeles in the Finals, correct?

The point is, they should have been doing anything possible to get LeBron to stay. Getting Stoudemire would have increased their chances of keeping him, simply because it would have made their team better that season.

I like this trade for the current Cavs team though. And the Kings got a good young player as well.

Good move for the Cavs. They just need to hope that one of their picks this year is actually worth it.

it would be trading for an aging amare, and he was expiring just like james. if james left, amare leaves, and you're not left with paying jamison for a few more years and you're under the cap

Exactly what I was thinking. I wonder if Jason Thompson is going to be moved now.

A championship? Giving your team a much needed upgrade that would help your championship cause is considered "no point"?

Also, Amare's deal was up at the end of the year, just like James. So there was nothing to lose, other than Hickson.

Just unreal that 1 year later they move him after refusing to move him for Amare. Yikes.

James couldn't even win w/ Wade/Bosh, he wouldn't have won w/ Amare, either

James is just not a winner in the NBA...

He will be. People could have said the same thing about your boy until this year.

Lebron will put it all together at some point.

I don't like this trade, mainly because of:

quote:

The Cavaliers said the first-round pick they obtained is lottery protected in 2012 (Nos. 1-14). The pick is then protected in 2013 (1-13), 2014 (1-12) and 2015-2017 (1-10). If the pick is not conveyed by 2017, then Sacramento will convey its own 2017 second-round pick to the Cavaliers.

If 'Zhilbear' had simply traded for STAT then they James resigns and we don't have a lockout. Really this lockout is a result of the monumental butthurt suffered last July by Dan Gilbert.
