you don't root for the saints?

Hush your mouth...I have been a lifelong Saints fan, If you knew me you would know a NOLA NHL team would be the only possible thing to make me divert someof my loyalty from my beloved Toronto Maple Leafs.

I can see one team relocating to QC and another team being contracted so that ol'money bags Balsille will fork out a half a billion for a Toronto team...or contract 2 teams and do 2 "expansion" teams. All in the name of protecting Bettman's "impeccable" reputation from being soiled...

I know Toronto has an AHL team, but do you think they would really support a second NHL team?

Toronto could support 3 NHL teams with the corporate base and the pent up demand for NHL hockey. Seriously the waiting list for season's tix is Green Bay Packersesque...

isn't Quebec City doing some kind of really shady political deal to build an arena on spec w/ the hopes of drawing a team?

nothing outta the ordinary for Quebec, they have been told by Bettman they will get a team if they build a new arena. Quebecor will own the team and they are a multi billion dollar company...Provinces like States kick in for the tax revenue generated. Plus QC is the seat of power...

I find this hard to believe bro. MAYBE two teams. I could see that based on the proximity of Hamilton which greatly helps TO to support another team.

TD Bank, Scotia Bank, CIBC are all centered in Toronto, it is as you know the financial heart of Canada with the stock exchange and 100's of Corporate Head Offices located there.

You are right it will never happen but the conference board of Canada ( an economic think tank arms length Government organization) determined a couple years ago Toronto (Hammy included) could support 3 teams QC could now support a NHL team easily, Montreal could support a 2nd team and Halifax and Saskatoon could also support another team. In other news Preds in shite with the NHLPA RFA Trouble

I actually think Kansas City might work if the team were well-run. The heartland has been surprisingly receptive to the sport of hockey at both the pro (Blues) and amateur (USHL and Nebraska-Omaha) levels. The fact that there's little going on in KC during the winter could work to a team's benefit. And, the arena and infrastructure are already good to go. The question would be finding someone rich and competent with interest (Cuban?!).
