Griffey. I think he would have broke the home run record pretty easily if he stayed healthy.

Marcus Allen...could've been the greatest with his all-around talent. Al Davis basically benched him for 4 years.

He did pretty much all he could do there.

In the golf world, the easy answer for me is Fred Couples. Sweetest swing in the game, and could only muster one major championship, mostly because of back problems.

Nice choice. I can agree on this.

Nah, man.
I'll add Yao to this list (T-Mac, Hill, Prior, Wood, Gooden, Strawberry are good ones). He was becoming the best center in the league as his health was declining. A 25/10 and 2 bpg center is difficult to come by these days. People tend to overlook the how remarkable it is for a 7'6 guy to be so skilled. It's amazing, for example, that he's an 83 percent career FT shooter.
Also, Eric Davis was an amazing talent whose career was hampered by injuries. Five tools. In his best season, he tallied 37 HR, 100 RBIs, 50 SBs with a .991 OPS.

Absolutely. I also wish David Duval would have not fallen off the face of the earth.

VERTIGO can do that to ya.
I got one NOBODY has thought of.[ well two]
Lyman Bostock[ if not for being gunned down]
And LEN Bias[Before he made a STUPID CHOICE].
You could also add Hank Gathers to this list.

That's a good one as well. It's amazing how far he fell. It's also amazing that he keeps going out there week after week and hasn't given it up by now.

Yea, I thought that was his problem when he was diagnosed and that he'd bounce right back after he got treated and it resolved. But he's never gotten back to form. I don't think he works nearly as hard now as he did when he was #1 and the British Open Champ, but I would have thought he'd be in contention way more often just based on his talent alone.
