Tsunami is good quality ingredients IMHO, albeit a little more expensive...but ~$1-2 more per roll isn't bad at all.
There's Waka House, which is pretty good.
But I recommend Ichiban's on Essen...great sushi for good prices.

do a search for sushi on the food and drink board and you will find reviews/opinions on all the sushi places in BR

Well played.
Ichiban and Sushi Yama are great recommendations. Tsunami is a good one, too, but they're expensive.

wrong. f&d is active during the day
plus if he just did a quick search there he would already have the answers

Hello! Sushi for a younger, contemporary vibe with some really decent prices. The location over by LSU usually has some great Japanese Champagne that females usually dig. Sit at the bar if you want to uwnind away from the rest of the place. It's actually more intimate, if you ask me.
I've heard Ichiban does well with their sushi, but I'm going for the stir-fry action over there FTW, when I go.
Other than that, Waka House used to do pretty well over on Sherwood, but its not the best. Kona Grill has some Sushi, as well, though I hit up their signature Chicken Dish when we went a few weeks back.
I found Tsunami overpriced and overhyped, though the view & the atmosphere is obviously second to none in Baton Rouge.
But, for my money? Hello Sushi!...

Kaminari is my favorite and only sushi restaurant I go to now. The quality is barely below that of a normal sushi restaurant, however, for $8.99 lunch, I eat about $70 worth of sashimi/sushi.
