Wanting to try this place out for dinner next weekend. Most likely I'll be walking around the quarter all day wit the wife and I was wondering if I could get by with wearing shorts and a button down or polo to dinner.

Sure why not. It seems as if dress codes have completely died off. I went to Ruth's last night and I couldn't believe the people that walked in looking like they have just played basketball or something.

I was just looking for something more casual. We'll be doing MiLa the night before and don't feel like dressing nice both nights for dinner.

While shorts in a good restaurant aren't for me, I have to say that Luke is pretty casual. You'll be fine.

Restaurants don't care anymore.

It was a sad day when Commanders stopped requiring coats for men...

with the exception of a few old school places, dress codes aren't really enorced. especially when a restaurant is in a high traffic area for tourists

People are all over the place at Luke. It's basically in a hotel, so folks are dressed for whatever they're about to do or have been doing.

I just don't worry about what people are wearing unless they are revealing body parts I'd prefer not to see while dining. I don't get the big deal of folks who have a hissy fit because someone else is not in a suit. I'm there with my dining companions to enjoy the company and the food. I'd be more bothered by a cell phone conversation or the phone ringing all the time. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in and don't look around if it bothers you.
