Going to be in dowtown Dallas for a couple of nights alone and I am looking for a few places to eat where food is culturally authentic.
Since I cant get it in my home town I would like asain/seafood but I am open to eating nearly anything.
Suggestions?

Most Truluck's have an all you can eat stone crab night...typically early in the week, Monday or Tuesday.
Seafood isn't something I ever eat in Dallas.
Quick goolge search came back with some place called Rex's Seafood on Lovers.

My apologies. There may be something out there, but I wouldn't know about it. I stay mainly in the Downtown, East Dallas, Oak Cliff ares.

I like all genres of music except rap and trance, I enjoy looking at art/museums/historical points of interest. Sometimes it is just fun to hang and people watch too. Im there Thursday through Sunday this week.

Museums: Dallas has a museum district downtown. The Dallas Museum of Art is good.
Nasher Sculpture Garden is world class modern sculpture (Picasso, Brancusi, Miro and some stuff from the last few years (James Surls isolation star room). The Crowe Asian museum is good too and free. All that stuff is within walking distance of each other Dallas Arts District
Of course there is the 6th floor museum.
Ft. Worth has even better museums than dallas. The Amon Carter has western art including a bunch of remingtons. The Ft Worth Modern is really good and The Kimball is a world class art museum.
Music: I just checked the Observer, a free, weekly publication. Look at most any Whole Foods, bar, restaurant for a copy. New issues come out late wednesday or thursday. It lists music, food, etc. Slobberbone is playing Saturday night at The Grenada (on Greenville, great venue, old movie theatre). They are an old cowpunk band that re-united a couple years ago. In their prime they would rock the frick out. Haven't seen them since they re united. Dove Hunter is opening up and are one of my favorite new local bands. I may hit that show. I'll post if I do and you can buy me a beer.
Good place to watch hot, rich milfs is Northpark Mall. Tons of scenery there and its air conditioned.
You could take a walk down Katy Trail (Bike path in Uptown) around 7pm and see some serious jogging/ walking scenery too.

Not Asian, but I tell everyone to eat brunch at Breadwinners on McKinney in Uptown. No one is ever disappointed.

This guy was. But I think I ordered poorly. I should have stuck to the brunch menu (and for brunch I'd go to Taverna instead).
OP: You'll have a good time at Victor Tango's. Great food and drink menu. And Old Monk a block away has a good patio.
Lots of good bars on McKinney: Idol Rich is my favorite, great patio and outside bar.

Not ethnic but I do like a hamburger or better yet a hot dog at The Angry Dog. Don't they call that Deep Ellum?

For gulf-style seafood eat at S&D Oyster House on McKinney Ave in Uptown. They have a great oyster supplier. Best oysters I've had that weren't straight off the boat. It's also in a really cool historic brick building.
If you want Thai, there is a good place off of Upper Greenville called Royal Thai.

Tei Tei is tiny, and I mean TINY so expect to wait. It is fantastic, however.
The Porch right next door to it is one of my favs around there as well. Google for menu.

Some really great suggestions in here, thanks guys (and gals?)
I am not at all interested in any chain restaurants. My mornings and days will be full so brunch is out anyway.
I am definitely going to check out the 6th floor museum also and maybe one of the music venues.

Probably the most over rated seafood in Dallas. Hook Line and Sinker on McKinney is good as well as Half Shells in Snider Plaza.

Bangkok City on Bryan Street has pretty good Thai food.
The Viet restaurant across from Bangkok is decent.
Hook Line and Sinker is pretty solid too.
To the Las Colinas person...if you like sushi, try The Blue Fish. That's all I can contribute to that area.
