What do you guys know about this kid? He impressed Dan Mullen enough today to earn an offer from Mississippi State. He has a big frame 6'5" to put weight on and he comes from a great HS program.

Also FWIW he said he grew up a LSU fan and is hoping for an offer.

He is a guy the staff apparently is watching and has talked to, but if I had to guess, I'm thinking he might be caught in the numbers. There seem to be so many in-state prospects at both DE and LB in the 2012 class, and we just can't sign them all. I think there will be some guys who LSU doesn't offer but who go on to nice college careers elsewhere.

I'm considering Torshiro Davis and Denzell Devall as likely DE's. We have Davis and are hoping on Devall. Other in-state DE candidates are Lathan, McFarland, Singleton (who could grow into a DT), Bell, Obioha and maybe Harris. Plus, I think we're still pursuing Ward out of Mississippi. Bell could eventually get an offer, but it might be tough with the numbers.

This kid just committed to State today. He really impressed our staff at camp last week. He checked in at 6'5" 235 and ran a 4.7 forty.

If I'm not mistaken doesn't John Curtis play for or win State every year? I think Joe McKnight played there.

Solid Program......

If LSU offers.......tough luck MSU. Otherwise, I wish the kid the best.

...and was no where near the player his ranking said he would be.

I called that, fwiw.

Anyhow, like he said......JC spits out more busts than they do hits.

LSU landed Dillon Gordon. We'll see how he works out as well.

MSU and Mullen get it, supplement in state talent and come get players LSU doesn't have room for.

Ole Miss did the same at Ole Miss and it served them well

You should hope Davis and Devall sign with LSU in February.

Why do you say that?

Why would LSU want a no star like Bell who only has offers from State and USM........ Hmmmm

Unless this kid is actually pretty good and just under the radar.

You never know...

I believe Obioha is the next one on the list if LSU were to take another DE in-state.

Bell is going to graduate in December and that's why he committed early. He also ran a 4.6 forty last week at our camp. I think we have a kid who will eventually be a 6'5" 265lb rush end.

Scout profile said 4.7

Commitment article said 4.65 fair enough?
