Oregon is in the driver seat. LSU really shot themselves in the foot when they didn't qualify any 100 hurdlers and Brittney Hall didn't qualify. Typical Shaver coached team. Mistakes at the most inopportune moments.

I think based on the formchart A&M is favored by a point over Oregon and 3.5 over LSU.

I don't see how you can attribute Brittany Hall failing to qualify (since Shaver doesn't coach her) and Jasmin Stowers falling at regionals to Shaver. It's like attributing A&M's 4th ranked 100m runner failing to make the final or their 4th ranked hurdler not making the final to Pat Henry.

Why not point out that Kimberlynn Duncan was not predicted to score in the 100m and ended up 2nd? Or Charlene Lipsey wasn't predicted to make the final in the 800 and ended up 4th?

You are right, this year the only major mess up was one of the top 400H in the country finishing in the wrong lane. That's a huge lapse of judgement, though, and I've watched LSU year after year at Nats under Shaver and there always seems to be 2-3 huge lapse in judgements such as missed handoffs, false starts, disqualifications, horrible race tactics, etc. Because Shaver picks his staff he is, as he should be, held responsible for the continual underwhelming performances at Nats under his guidance. Just as Les Miles was blamed rightly for keeping Crowton around, Shaver gets the blame for the mistakes.

The reason I am so adamant about these costly errors being fixed is because I know how good of a team LSU is and they can, and should, be winning far more titles (national) than they have under Shaver. He needs to be more open to others and not hide away in his office and for crying out loud, get a grad assistant for the distance program since Elliot couldn't care less about his team!
