Jeryl Brazil is a God gifted athlete. He's a play maker that could get a scholarship in any sport that he played. He was playing basketball, football, baseball, and track and he excelled in all of them. This past year he concentrated on football and track. He has a good head on his shoulders and will be a great role model one day...

Nope, just someone that seen this kid grow-up and now has a bright future in front of him. He's always had the talent to play up with the older kids growing up. I've coached him and get to see him around school. His life is on the right path...

Hi Jeryl!
Just because someone compliments him, doesn't mean it's actually him. COnsidering he's one of the few for 2013 with a scholarship offer, I'd say he probably is special.

With a official time of 10.49, "The Kidd", as he is called, is currently the LHSAA state champion in the 100 meter dash and competes at numerous track and field events through out the year. Most recently, Brazil attended the Caribbean Scholastic invite in Carolina, Puerto Rico, where he once again placed atop the field in the same event. Brazil was also officially timed by laser at a new personal best of 4.35 / 40 earlier this year during a combine for possible recruits.
Aside from being ranked #24 nationally in the 100 meter dash, Brazil is also #9 in the 55 meter dash with a time of 6.34. To put that into perspective, LSU fans know Trindon Holliday was as fast as they come, he ran a 6.27 in high school.
That speed has translated into success on the football field. Behind Brazil's 21 touchdowns, as a sophomore, the team finished 8-4 and received a playoff berth. That may not seem like an overwhelming accomplishment, but considering the same team was 0-10 the year before it stands as quite a feat. Brazil's performance on the field helped Loranger High achieve one of the best turnarounds in the history of the LHSAA. As many schools do with their best athletes, Brazil plays several different positions, including QB and wide receiver. And with 2 season’s remaining to hone his skills, things are looking bright for Brazil and the Wolves.
Off the field, Jeryl's the kind of kid everybody looks up too. Always smiling, or joking around, he's the guy that always makes people laugh. He approaches the game with a humbleness rarely seen in today's athletes. With the new recruiting rules in place, it makes the importance of finding quality individuals that can perform well on the field and in the classroom. Brazil strives to be great at everything he does, and with a 3.2 GPA, learning is no exception.
Through his current successes and struggles Brazil maintains a strong moral compass and relies on the values of his Christian upbringing to guide him through all things. The tragic loss of a close friend provided him with a focus and understanding that nothing is to be taken for granted and that every moment matters.
“He helps keep me motivated through all sports because I know he wants the best for me and I’m not letting him down by giving him anything less. He's a big factor on my successful year including track.”
After attending the LSU camp earlier this week, Brazil was offered a place in the 2013 signing class. When I asked him what he is looking for in a college during his recruitment process, Brazil had this to say:
“My main interest in college is the education. What I love the most about LSU is they make sure no one is behind on work and knows it all. They're strict when it comes down to education. I also look for a place where I feel comfortable and fit in with the surroundings.”

What are your thoughts on him committing to LSU?
Posted on 6/10/11 at 3:47 pm to Duckie
I think he will stay close to his family. He also has strong ties to the community. So, I believe with LSU's strong football and track program being so close to home that he will go to LSU...

Yeah, I know. It just wasn't funny, brah.
I understand typical internet "funny" sayings on other boards, but this board is pretty legit. Let's not ruin it with that bs.

Spelled differently.

Will track factor with him? I wonder if he accepts the offer and comes to LSU, along with Holmes, we are talking about some of the best track athletes in the country. Almost instant NCAA points type athletes. I would hope they would continue to pursue both sports when they get here because the LSU mens team could really use the boost.

If you knew, then why did you say this?:
"Just because someone compliments him, doesn't mean it's actually him."
Kind of flies in the face of your assertion that you knew he was kidding. And if you didn't think it was funny, then just shut up about it. You don't have to be a condescending prick just because it's the internet.
