Fishing Line at Academy.........

Wow........after my experience there last night I don't I will ever again. I kid you not, I brought two reels to get spooled up, one with PowerPro, the other with Trilene Hi-Vis and it literally took 35 minutes. Even worse, I hate how they make you buy the whole spool and they feel the need to put too much line on anyway, so the rest of the spool is pretty much a waste. And the kicker, I think for two reels I ended up spending $30.....I have to assume I would have spent less had I just gone to a local place where they have the bulk rolls.

You pay someone to string up your reel?

Why buy a whole spool when you can just get it done from a bulk reel in what usually takes 5 minutes, at a much lower cost?

I've done it a few times when I was in a hurry. They didn't make me buy an entire spool and it was only a few bucks. Not sure what was going on with you.

I think if they string it for you with a standard line, they'll do it from bulk. If you want something specific you have to buy the spool.
I mean, you can't buy a spool, spool it yourself, then return the rest cause to didn't need it... Same thing.

Well it's not like they do much anyway, they tie a knot and the machine does the rest......not sure of the reason for the CF.

Yea if you're gonna use line that comes on 300 yd spools just do it yourself. $30 sounds about right for a spool of powerpro and trilene.
I just keep all my spools in one of those line spooling boxes. Might take me 5 minutes max to spool a reel.

This. The only time I have EVER let anyone else spool my reels is when I bought one at bass pro shop and they offered to do it for free. They put way to much on there and it took me a half hour to respool it right when I got home.
